Having read today's Dreamwidth news post I'm feeling pretty good about abandoning LJ.  They seem like a platform I'd like to support.  And I can actually read and post from work again!  Most of the people who still post seem to have moved over, so this will be my last cross-post to LJ.  Goodbye, LJ.  It was a nice 11 years, but it's time to go.

I bought a permanent LJ account in 2003, figuring that I would use it long enough to make it worth the investment. At that time, a permanent account was around four years worth of a paid account. Thirteen years is definitely getting my money's worth of a four-year purchase. (This is rather like being on year 12 of license plate freebies that were supposed to end in 2009.)

Nice! I had a paid LJ account for a while, but it's been several years. Contemplating whether I want to do that with DW. I've put it on the shopping list (ie. mandatory spending waiting list).
